privacy, in plain words.
this is a small hobby site run on a computer at home. it's open to anyone. no ads, no tracking, and nothing here is sold or shared.
i.what's kept
- for each survey you take: the name you typed and your answers, plus the scores worked out from them.
- when you first answered and when you last changed your answers.
- if you ask for a work wiki invite: your name, email, where to reach you and your note.
there are no accounts on this site. the only time it asks for an email is the wiki invite request, and that email is only used to send your invite.
ii.the one cookie
hp_id is a random code that lets this browser come back and change its own answers. it isn't tied to anything about you and it's never shared. clear it and the site simply sees you as someone new.
nothing tracks you, there's no analytics, and the server doesn't keep a log of IP addresses. everything on the page, fonts included, comes from this site, so no outside company sees you visit.
iii.who sees what
- likeness: results show everyone's answers combined. your name isn't shown next to your answers.
- compass: people who've taken it can see each other's results by name.
- spectrum and iq: private unless you tick "share my result". then only people who've taken it can see it, and you can untick it any time.
- work invite requests: only the person running the site sees them.
- the person running the site can see everything stored, and can delete it.
iv.getting it deleted
ask and your answers get deleted. the nightly backups roll off within 14 days, after which they're gone for good.
the game at play.thehaugenproject.com has its own note, under "privacy" at the bottom of the game. the wiki at work.thehaugenproject.com keeps what you write there; ask and your account and pages get deleted.
